Jennifer's Birdhouse
Welcome

We are a small aviary located in Utah. All our birds are bred and raised inside our home. We specialize in hand raised cockatiels- many of which from parents that come from top NCS lines. They are pulled from the nest at two weeks of age to be hand raised and lavished with love and attention. This way you will receive a well socialized pet. We breed many mutations including Pieds, Pearls, Cinnamons, Lutinos, Whiteface, Fallows, Sex-Linked Yellowcheek, Emeralds, Dominant Silvers and many combinations of the above. Hope you enjoy our site!!!!!!

I am also the National Cockatiel Society state coordinator for Utah. For general information or information on joining the NCS you can email me at utahncscoordinator@jennifersbirdhouse.com or visit www.cockatiels.org.

The health of our cockatiels is very important to us. Our birds are fed a varied diet daily. Throughout the day we offer hard boiled egg, home made "birdie bread", peas and carrots, fresh and dried fruit, sprouts, rice, beans, seed mix and millet. Fortified pellets are available at all times. We feed them treats with bee pollen for their immune system, many sources of calcium for strong bones and healthy production of eggs, and supplements for their skin and plumage. All birds come with two cups of their current pellet food so you can slowly transition them to the food(s) of your choice without upsetting their stomachs.

Worming is done as a precaution twice a year in two dose treatments. We do this using Ivermectin liquid. Ivermectin is never administered during the breeding season, as this has never been proven safe. This same medication can also be used to rid birds of of the types of mites that can cause scaly skin and feather loss.
